Ode to Méret (2022)

There is a process of osmosis in which we absorb culture, tradition and language, especially when sitting down to a formal table with friends and family. Over generations we have inherited a wealth of culture, however we now live in a world where convenience is king. The loss of formality in our current day seems to go hand in hand with the general lack of understanding of nature and ecological balance. Truly knowing nature is on par with being in the company of others and taking in the fruits of the earth and our labors. These are essential to building a strong culture.

This ongoing series of tableware items is a tribute to the late surrealist artist, Méret Oppenheim.
